Residential Garbage Pickup
Our communities put their trust in us for their garbage pickup service. Being a local company, we live, work and play in the communities we serve. El Dorado Disposal is committed to keeping our communities safe and helping all residents properly dispose of trash as well provide opportunities to recycle and reuse material keeping it out of the landfills.
El Dorado Disposal Residential Service Options Include:
- Weekly trash collection in 35, 64 or 96 gallon carts
- Special collection service for large items or excessive trash
- Biweekly recycle collection in 64 or 96 gallon carts
- Biweekly yard & food waste collection in 96 gallon carts (May not be available in all service areas.)
- Participation in RecycleBank and recycling rewards
- Temporary Debris Boxes for home remodeling projects and property clean up
- Curbside oil and oil filter removal
- Curbside house hold battery removal
- Vacation holds for Non Mandatory EDCO A, B & C service areas only. Minimum 2 consecutive weeks up to 6 months per occurrence allowed twice per calendar year
- Customers 65+ years qualify for senior discount
General Information
All garbage service levels include one garbage waste cart, PLUS - one commingled Recycling and where available one 96-gallon cart for curbside Yard & Food Waste service. Garbage carts will be serviced on a weekly basis. Service on Recycling and Yard & Food Waste carts will alternate weekly.
Holidays
Garbage and recycling are collected on all holidays except Christmas and New Year's Day. If your collection day falls on or after Christmas or New Year's Day, collection will be one day later that week.
Computers and TVs
These items cannot be disposed of in carts. Computers, laptops, monitors, separated computer circuit boards and televisions contain heavy metals. They cannot be disposed of as garbage and must be recycled. Please call in for a bulky pick up or bring into the Material Recovery Facility at 4100 Throwita Way, Placerville.
You can also recycle many other electronic items, including computer peripherals (mouse, keyboard, cables, printer, scanner, speakers, etc.), cell phones, hand-held devices, photocopiers, fax machines, stereos, VCRs, and DVD players.
Missed Collection
If your container(s) were at the curb by 5:00 am (we recommend the night prior to collection) and were not emptied contact El Dorado Disposal at 530-626-4141 or 916-985-1162.
Note if the containers are difficult to see from the street. Leave the container(s) out, and they will be collected by the end of the next business day after notification.
Weather Delays
(Snow, Wind, Flooding, etc.) Public safety is a very high priority for El Dorado Disposal. When weather conditions prevent safe collection on your service day, we will automatically attempt service on the next business day, if conditions have not improved allowing safe service we will service the equivalent of extras on your next scheduled service day.
Extra Garbage
Extra garbage that does not fit in your garbage cart with the lid closed will cause a charge. If extra bags are placed out next to the cart or on the cart lid they will not be serviced without a work order. Please contact customer service at least the day before service at 530-626-4141 or email [email protected] to schedule the pick up of additional bags of garbage. Extra garbage charges will apply.

Common household items are convenient and generally safe, however, the batteries in them pose risks when disposed of in regular garbage or recycling containers - because of their highly flammable nature. Never toss them in curbside cans. It's a matter of safety!
