Material, such as rocks, concrete, brick, tile, roofing, stone building materials, dirt and stumps are required to be weighed due to density of transportation. The vouchers are applied to cubic yards and not weight.
Sod is not acceptable green waste material. It is contaminated with dirt and plastic.
Green waste is considered to be lawn clippings, tree trimmings, bush trimmings, pine needles, leaves, grass, pruning and green material that grows above ground. Green waste is not roots, root systems, stumps, and tree trunks larger than 18” in diameter or items stored in your yard.
One cubic yard is 3’ x 3’ x 3’. To measure cubic yards, multiply: Length x Width x Height divide by 27 = cubic yards. Our gate house attendants are all trained on properly measuring cubic yards.
Yes, you will be charged the difference in yardage for the specified materials. Any specific items such as tires, appliances and microwaves will be charged according to the posted price list.
El Dorado County Ordinance requires all loads brought to the MRF are secured. Any load deemed unsecure will be charged an additional 25% of the cost of the load. Please ensure all material is secured within your vehicle to prevent litter and more importantly the safety of other drivers.
